To access your Spymac mail via POP access, Internet Services must
(theoretically) be activated in the
Options
page. IMAP is available only for Wheel subscribers.
Servers
POP: mail.spymac.com
SMTP: mail.spymac.com
Receiving
User Name
Enter your username as username@spymac.com in all lower-case
letters.
Password
The password you use is the same as the one you use to access Spymac
itself.
Sending
SMTP Authentication
You must use SMTP Authentication. Do not use Secure Password
Authentication (SPA) or Secure Socket Layer (SSL). Use simple
authentication. Log in using your email address as your user name and
your Spymac password.
User Name
Enter your username as username@spymac.com in all lower-case
letters.
Password
The password you use is the same as the one you use to access Spymac
itself.
Note: If your username has capital
letters in it (ArnieShwartz) you must enter it into the email client in
lower-case letters (arnieshwartz). If you don't the server will not like
it and it will cause more problems.

Tip: A useful help system for
Webmail can be viewed here:
Webmail Help
Webmail Error
Sometimes when you click the "Mail" tab you'll end up with a page that
shows the following error:
Content-Type: text/html Software Configuration Error
The error message follows: /usr/local/atmail/users/k/i/king721@spymac.com/./new//098247216.H616437P11848.mail-in3.spymac.net
to /usr/local/atmail/users/k/i/king721@spymac.com/./cur//098247216.H616437P11848.mail-in3.spymac.net
: No such file or directory at /usr/local/atmail/webmail/libs//Atmail/GetMail.pm
line 2202.
To get around this problem, you could click
Options,
expand the Spymac Mail Settings section and change your language to
something else. Then submit. This fixes whatever the error is (or at
least it has in the past). After it's "fixed", you can change the
language back to your preferred choice.
